COTE Forum: Energy Efficiency in Design and Construction in Europe
Bring a brown bag lunch to the first Committee on the Environment Forum for 2006. Nabih Tahan, AIA will present ways for the American Building Industry to catch up to the Europeans in terms of energy efficiency, comfort and air quality.
Focus will be placed on: Progression of design and construction of homes in Europe, from Low Energy Homes (1990’s) to Passive Homes (2000’s); How automation and industrialization of design and construction has resulted in quality, energy efficient and healthy homes; and “Back to basics”: integrating design, building physics, engineered building envelopes and honesty in construction.
