There are many ways to approach the use of photography in environmental design. It’s Not Just Black and White: Photographing the Built Environment uses four themes that serve the acts of viewing, creating, and studying the built environment: documentation, presentation, remembering, and practice. Curated by Jason Miller, Librarian of the CED Visual Resources Center, and drawing on the collections of the Environmental Design Archives, the Environmental Design Library, the Visual Resources Center, and private collections, the exhibit stimulates thinking about photographic representation of the built environment and how this representation influences our design, writing, and research activity.
