Women in Architecture: 7 Tenets of Building in Concrete with Tod Williams and Billie Tsien

8/09/07

East Asian Library design team consisted mostly of young, not highly experienced, yet highly dedicated designers committed to successfully executing the work that is concerned mostly with smaller scale articulation and quality of craft. We will discuss design and construction issues and share our personal experiences in developing the design through construction details that address fundamental design ideas in addition to simple problem solving. We will cover topics such as concrete placement, finishing, quality control, construction tolerances and this particular team’s approach to inter-team collaboration in all stages of project delivery, which insured a positive experience for everyone.
