The Longevity, Beauty, & Earth Friendly Benefits of Clay Roofing Tile

Presented by Matt Mikel of US Tile at Dahlin Group Architecture/Planning in Pleasanton. This one-hour HSW course gives and in depth study of clay roofing tile and its energy saving/ green benefits.

From its raw beginnings, you will see how clay roofing tiles are generated for use in the market today. The course will cover the inherent differences between clay and other roofing products commonly found in the market place such as aesthetics, life expectancy, weathering, installation, and green attributes.

Matt will explore the benefits of using clay as a roofing tile such as environmental impact, roof products, solar reflectance, thermal emmitance (SRI values), LEED point generation, sustainable design, and Cradle to Cradle certification.

Matt Mikel has six years of knowledge in the building industry. A graduate of Fresno State University's Craig School of Business, Matt is currently working on his LEED AP certification. He works closely with local contractors, builders, designers, and architects in the San Francisco Bay Area.
