NCARB Webinars Cover Issues From IDP Through Certification

Starting an IDP/ARE Group Within Your Firm: Resources and Strategies
Do the interns in your firm need a forum? Would your firm benefit from an organized support structure for those pursuing licensure? Are you unsure of where to start? Rachel Kros, AIA, Manager, Programs, an architect with over 15 years of experience, and Nick Serfass, AIA, LEED AP, Assistant Director, IDP, a previous project architect with an IDP Outstanding Firm Award winner, will outline ideas to help firms establish an internal IDP/ARE Help Group. The webinar will review topics that a group could focus on, resources to accumulate, activities to engage in, and strategies for supporting interns and supervisors.

NCARB certification can be the key to a smooth application for reciprocal licensure in jurisdictions across the United States and in many foreign countries. Demetrius Norman, Assistant Director, Records, and Nick Serfass, AIA, LEED AP, Assistant Director, IDP, will explain the certification process and requirements and review the online application. Attendees will learn how to earn an NCARB Certificate and why it's valuable to their career.

NCARB: IDP Through Certification
Nick Serfass, AIA, LEED AP, Assistant Director, IDP, will present a range of topics relevant to students, interns, and supervisors. The presentation will review how NCARB works as an organization, how to begin an NCARB Record, how to progress successfully through the Intern Development Program, what changes to anticipate with the newly implemented ARE 4.0, how to obtain a license, and the value of an NCARB Certificate. He will also discuss some of the changes to our programs that have recently come down the pipeline, including the Six-Month Rule, electronic Experience Verification Reporting (e-EVR), and the Supervisor Guidelines. A question and answer period regarding NCARB programs will be offered at the end of the presentation as time permits.
